ANTARCTICA (NEWS1130) – It looks like no one survived after a plane carrying three Canadians slammed into a mountain in Antarctica.

Searchers have found the wreckage.

Pania Shingleton with the New Zealand Rescue Co-ordination Centre says the plane made a direct impact into the mountain nearly three days ago.

“The search is over for the Rescue Co-ordination Centre of New Zealand, however, there are still things that need to be decided and we’re just determining those.”

The pilot was Bob Heath from Inuvik along with crewmember Mike Denton of Calgary – and both their families have been notified.

The plane was operated by Kenn Borek Air of Calgary.
